LemonStand Review

Introduction

LemonStand is a young but successful e-commerce software platform and website builder for merchants and developers alike. The platform was founded in 2010 by LemonStand eCommerce Inc. Today, we present a LemonStand review to check one of the biggest players in the industry. LemonStand's customers are enormous, with Zendesk, PhoneSoap, Bose, Zippo, and Telltale being some of their biggest customers.

Ease of Use

LemonStand is quite easy to use with the flawless cloud system utilized. Navigating through the pages and customizing your store is outright easy with zero complicated buttons. The editor LemonStand offers is a point-and-click rather the modern drag-and-drop we see nowadays. This means LemonStand requires a little knowledge, and practically bad for complete beginners.
The point-and-click editor is responsive, with the store dashboard being easy to use and alter front-end changes to your store. LemonStand also features a CMS similar to WordPress. With a few clicks, you can easily make an announcement, blog post, and any other content.
The product module, which treats what you add to a product, is also competent with options. You can add categories, images, videos, tags, product types, collections and more. The best part is that the module is also easy to use and navigate. Adding an option is as easy as pointing to the button and activating it.

Themes

Themes are the core of a store builder, but LemonStand does understand this. There are 14 themes and templates currently — which means LemonStand is not perfect for those looking for a wide range of in-built or third-party themes. However, their themes are beautifully designed and programmed with HTML and CSS. The themes are open-sourced on GitHub, so you can edit the codes to create a unique store. The themes are also responsive and mobile-friendly. All the themes come with any LemonStand plan, so you won't spend a dime on them.
Lastly, LemonStand respects migration to and from other big platforms like Magento, Shopify, and Bigcommerce.

Features

LemonStand offers an array of features that make creating an efficient store. They have a staggering record of almost 100 payment gateways including PayPal, Amazon Pay, Authorize.Net, and Stripe.
In addition to payment, LemonStand features the ability to sell digital products (such as music, games, software, ebooks, courses, photos) as well as physical products.
LemonStand uses a global CDN for daily backups. They also use a strong SSL encryption to secure data and connections.
As stated earlier, the platform features a CMS similar to WordPress where you can create content for your store. You can create blog posts with a built-in WYSIWYG editor. You can also link a content to a product to increase interactivity.
There is an automated inventory management which allows the store owner and staff to customize order workflows, shipping rate tables, real-time carrier rates, and tax. You can also analyze your store with the sales and conversion analytics.

Integrations

LemonStand boasts a developer-friendly API, tools, and integrations in a number of categories. There are more than 100 integrations currently. There are analytics integrations with the likes of Google Analytics and KISSmetrics. There are other categories: Shipping, Tools, Marketplaces, POS, Inventory, Social, Fulfilment, Printing, Accounting & Finance, Sales & Marketing, Support, Operations, and Payments. Every integration comes with a plan for free.

Performance

When three of their demo desktop stores were tested, the average was 7.3s full loading time. The mobile test reported 8s average full loading time. The SEO optimization utilized by LemonStand is noteworthy. A tab named SEO allows you to add the title tag, meta description, meta tags, and URL of a product for better search engine ranking.

Pricing

LemonStand pricing is transparent with zero hidden fees. All you need to buy a plan, and you'll have all the features and integrations plus unlimited products and bandwidth. The Starter plan handles 75 orders per month at less than £15/month.
The Growth and Professional plans are priced at £52 and £150 per month respectively. They can handle 300 and 1000 monthly orders respectively. You can also contact them to discuss the Premium plan (£300/month) which is recommended for big stores.
The billing practice is good because you can cancel any plan without issue. You can try LemonStand for 14 days free before opting for a plan.

Customer Support

There a Documentation knowledgebase where you'll find answers to most queries and questions. Pages span in how to build, design and run a store on LemonStand. If your question is not answered, however, you can send an email to support@lemonstand.com or call +16043984188 (working 9 am – 5 pm Pacific Time).

Conclusion

There are few things to consider about LemonStand vs. Shopify, Magento, and Bigcommerce. LemonStand is still working to deliver a solution for store owners, merchants and developers to create fully functional online stores easily. Their service is not cheap, however. LemonStand is off-radar for small store owners. The platform is ideal for owners with a big budget and enormous monthly sales.
There is a 14 days trial, so you can try LemonStand out before abiding by a decision. In my opinion, LemonStand is not up to the competition with the aforementioned names. Shopify, for example, charges more than LemonStand but offers far better features and functionalities. This LemonStand review ends with the obvious — LemonStand is only average and not recommended.
