Weebly

Weebly website builder is one of the top website builders on the market today. It was initially released in 2006 and it’s based in San Francisco, California. As Weebly claims, with more than 20 million sites and tons of Weebly reviews, it is within the top five used website builders. To evaluate all of this and if  Weebly is good for small business owners who want to take their businesses online, we naturally decided that we needed to perform a thorough review of Weebly just like we have with other major website builders. We assessed Weebly in 12 different areas: usability, pricing, design, responsiveness, loading speed, SEO, integration, features, support, pros and cons and final verdict. We have found that when attempting to retrieve the most comprehensive review a website builder’s capacity, it is vital that we look at all the integral parts of the website building system. Furthermore, when judging a website builder it is important that you can break things down into different factors, as some factors may not hold much bearing for some while simultaneously holding a considerable amount of bearing for others.

Ins and Outs Of Weebly Website Builder

Usability

During my experience using Weebly, I found that it was incredibly easy to use. It offered a very simple and standard drag and drop platform. It worked well and was straightforward. I would say that compared to many other website builders I have used, it is by far one of the easiest and most simple setups. When you begin building your website on Weebly, navigation through the steps is easy to work through and intuitive—making it a great choice for beginners.

Design

Weebly has over 70 templates to choose from which isn’t a ton but it’s also more than some other builders. The designs that Weebly offers are mostly basic. Weebly does offer edits with CSS/HTML which only developers can utilize. They also don’t offer nearly as many templates for mobile usage. I found Weebly to be a bit restricting regarding content placement which was somewhat limited. In short, Weebly’s designs are a bit limited but if you can use CSS/HTML, you will be less limited and will have more to work with.

Loading Speed

This is the section, where most website builders tend to loose to custom coded websites. The obvious reason is website builders provide so many options for every user resulting in more code and data fetch from the database. Extra calls, will make website built on website builders load a bit slow. However, to some extent, Weebly loading speed can be optimized by leveraging browser caching, minifying  JS, CSS and compressing images. asWeebly websites work websites for loading fast, loads okay website builders like Squarespace. It tends to be on the slower side at times which I noticed when giving it a try. They don’t offer any integrated speed optimization additions but they do have a CSS/HTML editor which can help with speed performance. I also found an area in the support center that offers a few techniques to help with your speed performance. I would maintain that if loading speed is a huge deal for you and your site needs, you are most likely better suited with a different builder.

Weebly for loading speed has mixed reviews from its users. Some feel the loading speeds are good and some feel the other way. The reason for that is no two sites built with the website builder are same. Some websites may be photo rich and load slow, while some other websites are very well optimized for speed.  In our tests, compared to other website builders like Wix, Weebly performs better but loses to Squarespace. With websites being fetched from its own data centers, Weebly has an additional edge of customizing the web hosting for their website needs.  They don’t offer any integrated speed optimization additions but they do have a CSS/HTML editor which can help with speed performance.

SEO

I discovered Weebly to have lots of good ways to optimize SEO. Weebly uses your page name in the URL which is very helpful. Also, if you’re using Weebly for a blog post you can customize the last part of your URL to be virtually anything you want which is great for optimizing your SEO. These are assets that aren’t offered by all website builders alike. Another helpful addition is that while using Weebly you can go to the “advanced settings” on all of your pages and actually set your SEO title and also your meta description. This is great because you can add in whatever keywords you would like the title or description of the page which can boost SEO quite a bit.

Integration

While I was using Weebly I found that it offered quite a few options in terms of integration. It offered full access and control over my website’s HTML/CSS coding which I appreciated. Other options that Weebly offer are Paypal, Etsy, shopify, Social Media, Stripe, Authorize.net, Quickbooks, Google App Suite and over 200 more! In short, I found the integration options to be well varied and good in number.

Features

There are some notable features offered by Weebly that I want to mention. It has a pretty fantastic image editor that I loved. Images are so important on your website and I especially appreciate when I can edit the images to make them look how I want. Another feature that I loved was how the blog offered great options to help maximize SEO. Lastly, it offered the option to schedule any posts you want to make ahead of time for social media — a great tool for any blog.

Support

You can get support using Weebly via phone call, live chat, email or their help center that has common questions and tutorials. Their phone line is open Monday through Friday from 6 AM until 6 PM Pacific Time and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM until 5 PM. One thing that I will mention is how simple using Weebly is — so the support you will most likely need is minimal. There are multiple support options offered by Weebly in the event that you have a problem.

Final Verdict

Just like with most other website builders, I think that Weebly would be a good choice for some and still be a bad choice for some others. If you’re looking for a super modern and advanced website I don’t think Weebly would be the best fit for you, as the designs are somewhat limiting and basic. However, if you are somewhat of a beginner and looking for something easy, straightforward and basic, I think Weebly would be a great fit for you. Also if you want to know what other real Weebly users are thinking about it, please scroll up and check Weebly user reviews. You will get to see lot of different opinions about Weebly as a website builder from user reviews.

Pricing

Before discussing the costs of different packages that Weebly has, lets us first discuss Weebly free plan. As they market around, is Weebly free plan really free? Yes and no! Yes because you can have a website that can go live on the internet for free and no because you can’t have your custom domain and can’t use more than 500 MB of Storage Space. Except for drag and drop features, you can’t use any other features. Weebly’s pricing rates are pretty good. They range from $9 a month to $59 a month. The plan that I would recommend is the pro plan which costs $12 a month. This plan comes with an unlimited number of pages, no ads, up to an entire year with free domain, thorough reports about your site, site-search and no limits on storage and blog capability. You can sell up to 25 products with this plan with a 3% transaction fee. You can also opt for the business plan which is $25 a month. Have used Weebly to build two fairly simple websites. For my purposes, it’s been great. Easy to use, allowed me to build professional looking websites in a matter of a few hours, forms are easy to use to acquire user information. Metrics on the dashboard are fun to monitor. I have not explored its abilities for more in depth or complex sites.

I have been using Weebly for 4 years to maintain a handful of websites. The most important and complete one of these is the site I have maintained for my church since 2003. I converted the site to weebly in 2013, as I was looking for a website builder that was more robust, promised stability and continued development in technology and features. They have met my expectations and I am very pleased with the software.

Another objective of moving to Weebly is that I had multiple sites and needed to have them all under one umbrella. Makes it easier to maintain when you only have to learn one software. Additionally I was able to assign a secondary user with appropriate security to maintain selected pages on two of the sites.

With regard to their “support” I am not able to give a rating as I only used it at the very beginning on a very limited basis. I have not had the need since.

I have 10 sites, some commercial for my rental business and my book and speaking services and the rest are for non-profits like the local trap club, fly fishing club. I am forced to use GoDaddy’s website program for my church and it is so much less flexible and hard to edit. On Weebly you can have a site in 10-15 minutes if you have a few photos on your computer and have basic word processing skills. Make it simple or add movies, slide shows, e-commerce, downloads, and more. The key for you, however, is that all these features are just a few clicks away. No XML or other programming. All drag and drop.

Getting a new website name (URL) is easy through Weebly and there is specific help for pointing an existing URL to Weebly.

Never needed to use their Support and I am not a computer person. I only wish Microsoft and Apple services were as easy.

By next year I will change the church over to Weebly upon its renewal.

I am a graphic designer and have been using Weebly for a while now for a majority of my client websites. I have 32 in the Designer site area and 10 in the free area. For the most part I LOVE Weebly, it’s easy to use, I can design a site fairly quickly and it’s easy to customize the code in the back end to make the themes unique for my clients. I love that my clients can easily do their own changes with their own login area. Some things I don’t like — in the designer area Weebly does not have the capability to easily download Widgets that are teamed with Weebly and use on the site. I think that this is a huge issue! Why pay more for the designer area when there are less options for the designer to make sites with special features that customers are asking for? Also the blog system lacks in sharing capabilities. I hate working with WordPress but their blog layouts and features have so many more options then Weebly. I have always had quick response with the help chat. I think pricing is fair. Their templates and themes are good, but I think they could have more templates to choose from. Usually I find that on their themes the logo area is way too small so I have to mess with the code to make that area larger. I’ve used some other website design programs and I always go back to Weebly. I hope they continue to improve and listen to their customers.

I use Weebly and I love it. I had used a Microsoft Office product previously, but Weebly out performs them in every way. I maintain my own site, changes are easy to make, and it looks polished and professional. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a site for their business.

I’ve been able to build a couple of websites pretty easily without skills or much experience. The prices are affordable.

I’ve waited a long time for a “chat” but usually get a decent reply to an email for help. Calling on the phone has worked well.

I have been very pleased with Weebly. It’s easy to use and creates a professional-looking website. The drag and drop features for adding headings, text, images, etc. work well. I’ve had just a few reasons to try to customize and mostly been successful at what I wanted to do. Not being an expert in HTML, the customization took a little work, but I was eventually able to figure it out.
The only other downside is that sometimes the text editor behaves a little quirky and not quite as smoothly as a normal word-processing program. But that complaint is minor compared to all of the other nice benefits. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to quickly create a website.

We love our website through Weebly! As a family owned and operated business, we share many responsibilities and juggle many hats. This has allowed us to easily set up a professional site without any experience. We can make changes on the run, and really not worry about our site too much. Have recommended Weebly to many friends and other business connections as a way to get their business up and going quickly.

I love Weebly! I find it very convenient and user-friendly. I love having access to my own website at all times and making changes or updates as I like. It’s easy to navigate and the templates are always updated to offer current options. The odd time that I’ve had a question or gotten stuck on something a customer service representative has always responded quickly and followed up. I’ve been with other companies and find Weebly to be a more affordable option as well as the cleanest design. You don’t need to have any technical prowess to navigate it. I have and will continue to recommend Weebly to others.

I have been using Weebly for over 10 years and overall, Weebly is a great company and product.
    PROS:
    1. Their customer service is always incredibly nice and knowledgable making working with them a real pleasure.
    2. If you’re not the most tech-savvy Weebly is the way to go! Incredibly intuitive interface to navigate.
    3. Overall, an easy system to use.

    CONS:

Fonts are not the best selections (a designer definitely did not select them) – they should model their typefaces after Squarespace and then they’d really have one of the best products out there.
When creating a website for a client they should model their transfer of ownership to the client like Squarespace for a much more professional experience for both the client and the designer.
Full-width slideshow header/banners are not currently an option.
Because I mentioned Squarespace so much, why not just them you ask…their templates are so fleshed out when you begin with them that a lot of time of spent trying to shift it from the theme’s business to your business.

I love Weebly! In fact I recommend almost all my clients to use a Weebly site, unless they are really needing some technical things and plug ins. Let’s start with the cons first and then give the good stuff!

    CONS:

As a designer who has a seller account with weebly, I feel the monthly hosting is a little high for a web building business. I currently have 28 clients and have to pay nearly $250 a month for hosting, to me that is a little much, and while my clients are paying for the hosting, I would rather be charging for the hosting myself and making a little money instead of having to pay all of it to weebly.

As of right now, any sites that I build for my clients has ZERO apps available to use, on my 0wn personal website I get apps and there is a lot of neat features that can help a website a lot, but on the builder for my clients they have not yet made it the app market available.

Most of the themes feel like they are exactly the same with just very minimal differences between them. It seems like before they had the mobile responsive websites they actually had some better themes, but I also understand with mobile friendly themes it has to be simplified some.

No way to revert the website to a previous date if you happen to mess up your website. Since I teach my clients how to mostly self maintain their websites, from time to time, I have one that will mess up their website pretty badly and then I have to go back and fix their mess ups, if they had a history option, then when a client messes up their site, all I would have to do is go back to before they messed things up.

    PROS:

Weebly is simple to learn and simple to teach. I have been building websites and teaching my clients how to edit and maintain them themselves over the last 6 years. It takes an average of 1 hour to teach even the most computer illiterate of clients how to use their website with very few of them asking more questions afterwards.

User friendly and easy to edit. I have dealt with WP sites before and it took 30 minutes to change 2 or three things because you had to go to 10 different places to change them. In weebly, you change it on the page you want to change it and then you are done.

Great galleries. Again WP you had to find a plugin to us with it, then figure out how to install the plugin, then figure out how to upload pictures to the plugin and then test to see if it even worked. Weebly, you set up the gallery, upload your pictures and your done, no muss no fuss.

Price: Okay I gave the negative for the client side of things, but as a personal consumer I feel like the price is great. Now even if I was having to pay the $7.99 a month for myself I wouldn’t feel that that is a bad price (I pay $52 a year because I was grandfathered in with the old pricing).

Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about weebly, in fact if I wasn’t also using this to sell websites to my clients, I probably wouldn’t have any complaints, but because I do so much with the client side of things, I see the minor flaws that Weebly has and can overlook them without any problems.

For a small-to-medium sized business, Weebly is great. Out of the web builders I have tried, it is definitely the easiest to use for a non-coder. There are a variety of freely available templates, and the templates are easily customizable as far as colors and fonts. If you know web coding, you can also get into the CSS of the theme and change things to your heart’s delight. Warning: doing this will “void the warranty” so to speak, and support staff will be unable/unwilling to help you if you break something.

If you want to customize the themes without breaking into the CSS, you can also do so with drop-in HTML text boxes. You can add third-party widgets, create your own interactive elements, or even just add your text and images from an HTML approach. This is helpful because, for example, Weebly’s Title element is only an H2 header, rather than an H1, so if you want to dig into SEO Optimization the HTML element can come in handy.

The support team has been helpful in resolving small issues, but there are several times when I inquired about a feature that is not currently supported, and the quick answer was basically “we don’t do that and never will.” Not, “I’ll forward your suggestion to the development team,” or “here’s another solution that might work,” but just a dead-end. A minor issue for me, but I wish there was a little better way to crowdsource suggestions.

One major drawback: the backup. I tried backing up my site using the built-in backup feature, and it’s pretty much useless. Certain directories are not included in the backup (including many of the images), so it would not be useful in getting the site back up and running if something were to happen to it, which is the whole point of a backup. I’ve had a few times when Weebly’s servers have been temporarily down, and I wanted to build an abbreviated, static backup of my site on another server that I could switch to on such occasions, but the backed up site files were so incomplete that I couldn’t use them. I contacted support, and again, their answer was “our backup is not designed to be able to migrate your site off Weebly” (or rebuild your site at all, it would seem) so if you ever leave Weebly you’ll have to start from scratch.

So in summary, aside from some more advanced limitations, and some support issues, Weebly is great for users who want a lot of options at a reasonable price, and a great-looking site with a minimal learning curve.

I have used Weebly for many years and on over 20 websites. It is by far the easiest to get started with and the easiest to get launched.

I would recommend Weebly to anyone that wants to get a site up and going in a day or less.

I would agree that from a reseller side, it is a little expensive. But other than that, I would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastically easy to set up, change the look with theme-switching with incredible ease, and flexible enough to run a half-dozen of my different sites’ needs. Weebly are in my opinion, the best option for building a website, when you either have limited time or an open evening in which to explore things further. I have tried other platforms and think sometimes they are for the better but eventually Weebly add something else and then I consider them again.

I have only one grumble, the current pricing options. I retain my own domains elsewhere and would rather not pay for one with Weebly which I am not going to use. Please reduce my hosting price via the domain name reduction.

Love Weebly! I’ve used it to stand up a number of sites quickly and easily. I’m not a web-guy, and don’t know adobe that well, or other web software. But with this service I am able to handle some pretty amazing things, like setting up a ‘store’ to take orders for products, etc.
Thanks Weebly for making it easy for the ‘rest’ of us!

I am using the free Weebly website builder and have found it super easy to use. The learning curve is so simple that I had the site up and running within minutes! Maintaining is has been a breeze. I recommend it to everyone that is interested in having your own website! Thanks Weebly for your service!

I really love using Weebly.com. It’s so quick and easy to use compared to other templetive website sites where loading takes for ever and is glitchy–not the case with Weebly.com. I love the QUICK support, pricing and variety of themes. I’d love to see more current themes that have anchors on a one-page layout w/o having to post html coding. Not having to html code is the main reason why I love this platform. Just need to see a few more options. I will continue to use and recco this awesome brand!

I love Weebly. It’s simple, easy to use, drag and drop functionality with the ability to add blogs and ecommerce with a cart. And Google likes it…it’s good for SEO. I use it all the time for my clients to generate beautiful websites that I can rank and use for lead generation for them. If you do want to insert some html code, you can do that too. My only complaint & reason it gets 4 stars for flexibility, is they stopped allowing the alt text for photos to be indexed by Google, which makes it more difficult for SEO, but as I said, it’s still very doable! The fees are fair and there is a while labeled client dashboard so my clients can update their own content if they wish, such as blog posting or ecommerce items updates.

Weebly was a great website builder, especially since I have almost no experience in this area. No coding required and simple drag and drop features made it really easy to setup a website fast. I also liked the plethora of different themes they had to choose from. I’ve gone on to build two more websites for other ventures using Weebly and still love it!

    I would not recommend Weebly.
I have been a user for over 3 years albeit at a basic level even though I upgraded to Pro.
I created a site for our condo, one for my wife’s church and one for myself (have handed over the condo and church sites and both have changed to different build sites)
It is definitely NOT an intuitive site.
You have to build by trial and error and the biggest frustration is that there is no “Undo” button.
I have to exit without “Publishing” and start again, losing all the work up to the point of the error which I could not “go back” on or “undo”.
The iPad App version is a waste of time as it does not display what is seen on the Mac.
The only reason I continue with my own website (denzillion.com) is that I have list the passion to try something else. I am 72 and consider myself “computer savvy” but Weebly has me beaten!

Weebly is a great website builder for your first website. It creates good looking sites and it is easy to get started with. Each of the themes can be enhanced with CSS and adding pages is fast. The interface can be a little fiddly, especially the drag and drop functionality.

Weebly helped me build what feel is a very professional looking website completely by myself. I can not say enough about the ease of use.

In my history I have tried to learn to code to build my own website. I have at one time paid someone $2,500 to build a website for me and when looking to build a beta site I looked into both Weebly and Wix. Things just seemed to come together easier with Weebly.

We recently switched to Weebly to have more creative control and to update the look of our site. The price point was good and the design process made simple by the use of a template. During the building process and transfer of our domain the customer service was excellent, quick, and the follow up helpful. It is very easy to maintain.

Had a longer review written here, but it was deleted when I hit submit because I hadn’t rated all categories, so here’s the gist of it. I don’t know about support, because I have never actually contacted Weebly for any issues (but I gave it a 5 here anyway because I am guessing it is probably good and can’t submit this review without rating the support factor). Other than that, the only issue I have ever actually had with Weebly is not always being able to find the same theme I want to use to for another website again when I start to build another site. Beyond that, Weebly is great in my book! Works great for a “non-techie” like me and “major techies” like some of my friends. You can build a clean, beautiful website with Weebly from scratch that looks very professional. Weebly gets an A+ in my book!

I’ve been using Weebly for years now, not only for my site but I do recommend it when I design sites for other people, however, there are some things that aren’t as flexible as I’d prefer when designing. It doesn’t have an option to do a blank template where I can create it from scratch however I’d like and that leaves me only to use their templates. For someone who is looking for a nice, intuitive site building option without wanting too much personalization, Weebly is a great fit that is cost effective. However, do not buy your domain through them as you will not be able to bring that domain to any other website host.

I’ve enjoyed using Weebly over the past 7 years. I would say it is a great option for those needing a website for their business or school/community function. The support is mostly via email and there are a ton of online references that will usually answer your questions. The pricing is hard to beat. The Templating and Themes are somewhat limited and I’ve had to buy my themes from a 3rd party to get the custom look that I wanted. I would say this is a very flexible website creator platform and it has helped me grow my two businesses. Hard to go wrong with Weebly!!

It’s easy to use, has great functionality and I found the tutorial videos helpful. Would like to see updates to these videos especially the SEO one. I like that I can make changes very quickly to my website, so easy! Big thumbs up and so glad I made the switch!

I started using Weebly around 2008. I have set us at least a dozen websites on Weebly that were used for business purposes. I’m a visual website builder, so I build it as I go. Weebly is great for that. It used to be more flexible when it came to creating top banners, now it’s not as functional, but it works. I wish they hadn’t changed it. They have gotten more “template” based, which I can see as valuable for beginners, but I liked the older way. They took some cues from Wix, which I don’t like. But I still like Weebly better than anyone else I’ve tried.

It’s easy to set up a site, easy to make changes, putting premium content (like videos) on the site, using your own domain, etc. require payment of a plan (basically about $100 a year). But you can easily set up FREE sites that are pretty good. You can back up website and copy on of your sites as a base for building another similar site – which I like.

I wouldn’t pay to have them set up my domain for me. It’s too easy to use godaddy. There are simple instructions on how to direct the connect a godaddy domain to a weebly site.

Almost 10 years and I’m still happy. I’ve had no trouble getting support the 3-4 times I’ve needed it.

I use Weebly.com for website creations, Shutterstock.com for images, Serif Drawplus to create graphic elements, and videopad video editor for creating videos and Google Adwords for advertising. I’ve made a lot of money from my weebly websites over the past 10 years, so I’m not complaining. I know nothing about programming, but I do know how to layout a graphic and text package that gets people to pay.

I taught music and music technology and computer technology. A long time ago I used FrontPage to create webpages for my students. Then someone clued me into Weebly and I haven’t gone back. Why make life so hard? You can learn to do almost everything on Weebly. I have now shared it with others who have had great experiences. The templates just make it so easy, but then you can customize everything. Keep up the good work Weebly!

I have used Weebly for a couple of years now. I have built two different websites for my personal use and have been very satisfied. I had tried other web builders before but I found this one more flexible and easy to use. I like that you can tweak some html code. I would love if they offered more flexibility in this area but I guess for a price I paid, it is a decent deal. For a nominal price, I can also use my own domain name and not have Weebly show up anywhere on the site. I also like the themes. They are modern, clean and classy. Overall, I am a happy customer and would happily recommend this service to others.

I’ve had a couple sites with Weebly (2 free sites and one pro site) almost since Weebly’s beginning. I wont change because the support is top of the line when I can’t figure things out but I have to say for a technologically challenged person like me the whole thing is exceedingly easy to figure out and to use. There are very simple tutorials for whatever is not obvious and simple tutorials that explain the updates. Thanks Weebly for these years of ease of website building.

Weebly is a rippling stream of butterscotch candy that flows mellifluously through the annals of time. In its pure form, it is a hardened hunk of coal that must be wined, dined, and mined in order to extract its orgasmic diamondy center.

Few scholars have ever come close to catching its essence in a butterfly net, however, Sir Herbert P. Chesterdrawers, the world’s premiere Water Vole Chemist had this to say, “Never have I encountered such a taint-ticklingly delightful proposition. Alert the albatross at once so that a sacrificial feast may be undertaken in the utmost precarious regards.”

Unfortunately, Sir Chesterdrawers’ mortality was claimed by the Chatbots of Lame on a fateful evening that involved a rabid sardine tin and a rubbish truck tire; the general consensus being it was an inside job perpetuated by the Duke of Marshmallow Fluff. But before his untimely death, Sir Chersterdrawers was able to safeguard his formula from the Baron of Whine in a sycamore hollow east of the Dunes of Zeppoli.

Years later, a pack of languid rooks descended upon the Dunes and unearthed the formula, of which would stand as the key ingredient to Weebly’s incipience. And thus, the people assembled and declared it was worthy of approximately three point four stars. And they sang high praise of Sir Herbert P. Chesterdrawers. And they cursed the nefarious Chatbots of Lame. And they celebrated the languid rooks. And my ass fell off.

I love Weebly for how easy it is to use, even if you are a novice user. The drag and drop features are easier than any of the other drag and drop editors out there like Squarespace or Wix. Whenever I try to edit one of those sites, I get frustrated and try to convince them to move over to Weebly. I also love that I, as an advanced user, can update the CSS and background information to make the site do anything that I need it to. I have also built many other sites for clients of mine and have been able to make my site look like any of the “beautiful” WordPress or other site builder sites. You can literally do anything with a Weebly site, you just have to know what you are doing, just like with all of the other builders. I highly recommend Weebly as a site builder, no matter what your skill level.

I have been using weebly for several years now to build my personal various websites and run online shops. While being a little basic at first, I am happy with a lot of the updates they’ve made with mobile friendly designs, and most recently – the ability to customize colors on a theme. Their customer service has always been great when I’ve had questions or needed help. I’ve been very pleased with their services. It’s simple enough to edit and add features, their web store is great and I love that I can offer digital products for sale, although I pay a premium to be able to do this and I do feel it is a little overpriced ($25/mo). But it also allows me to track inventory and have a seamless secure checkout. At times I do wish there was more customization abilities, similar to WIX. For example, in my store I have original paintings for sale but they are all different ratios. When I choose to display the products where customer can see a thumbnail of the entire image, some thumbnails become too small. I would love if I could customize the size of each thumbnail. So I end up using the square ratio to display the work which often crops the image in an odd way that I have no control over. I would love if weebly could change this feature to add more customization ability within the store.

The platform is easy to use but have found others with better flexibility to make it more personal. Support in Australia would be great so I can get problems rectified quicker. And I haven’t been able to call support on the number I have been given. My Web store would be awesome if I could integrate zip pay, ezy pay or any of the buy now pay later options offered in Australia. Makes building our webstore very un competitive and we are losing many big ticket sales.

I am very happy with my Weebly site. I’ve crested 2 others on the same platform. You do have to have some light technical knowledge. Not as much as you would for WordPress but more than you would for Wix. The themes are plentiful and to me easy to work with. There are a lot of options on the form to give you flexibility in making your from look unique and different from others. I’ve called into support only a couple of times, but they were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Greetings, I’ve tried several website builders to build my websites. Weebly has proven to be the best hands down. I’ve been with them for several years and the thought of changing does not cross my mind. Weebly has all the bells and whistles I could possibly want and more than I may ever need. It is one of the true drag and drop programs. It’s perfect for anyone who simply does not have time to sort through complicated, and often frustrating, techy programs. I recommend it to all my clients. On the downside, I have had it to freeze a few times (very few) or something simply isn’t working correctly. The solution has always been, simply close it out and reopen it. Problem solved. I’ve never had to call support regarding those kinds of issues. I have no complaints regarding the support service. My questions are almost always about having them transfer a new domain or something of that nature. Their service personnel treat me as though I matter to them and that my question is important. I am a big-time Weebly fanatic! Dell Self SpeakThroughMe.com

And the best part – it’s free. I have upgraded a couple of the sites I created because the cost of even their professional packages is still very reasonable. I wouldn’t look any further than weebly until you give it a try!

Weebly is easy to use and makes building and maintaining a website a breeze. Their themes are clean and interactive as well as intuitive. The store is easy to navigate and offers many options. I was nervous to leave my store platform and move everything over to weebly. But those worries were unfounded. Other than making sure every detail was handled (new user error), the weebly store platform is seamless. My business has grown rapidly due to the additional features weebly offers. I could not be happier and I have already brought some friends over to share the magic with their sites. Thank you for providing a great platform, excellent customer service and beautiful site.

I find Weebly to be a top provider in the market for those who want high-quality websites that are easy to build. Weebly is great whether you have no Front End/Coding experience or moderate Front End/Coding experience. I would recommend Weebly to anybody looking for a professional website with limited web design experience. One area where Weebly could improve is for those with more web design experience and in creating more themes which are automatically optimized for mobile devices without much, if any Coding needed.

I find Weebly to be very efficient in allowing my company to build professional looking websites quickly at an affordable cost. Weebly is excellent if you have either no or very limited website design skills, and it is pretty good if you are a more experienced website designer. I would not recommend Weebly at this point in time to expert website designers only because Weebly does not have the greatest customization when it comes to expert website design opportunities. Two things Weebly must also greatly improve upon is its websites being optimized for mobile devices and tablets, as well as its customer service (especially via the phone). Overall I like Weebly a lot and would certainly recommend it to the majority of people I come across, but like with any good company, there is certainly a lot of room for both growth and improvement in a bunch of different areas.

I have developed and administer over 25 websites all built within the framework of weebly. It has proven to be a very robust platform for most all of the needs of my clients whom are all under $50M in annual sales. It’s a very simple, and easy-to-use system that permits quick changes by anyone who can compose and email and understands how to add bullet points and indent paragraphs. The simplicity is what really separates Weebly from more advanced platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. All of the plugins are pretty much contained within the ecosystem and many of the WP widgets that would often need updated and present problems are not problematic within Weebly. The closed eco system does have it drawbacks. The creation of tables is rudimentary at best. There are some limitations to creating details for service related products within the store area. Generally, however, Weebly is a robust platform for small to mid-market companies to built a strong web presence.

Using the Weebly platform for the past seven years. I absolutely love it. The usability is quite simple, easy and straightforward. No nickel and diming of extra services. The data space allowed for uploads in the “Contact” form is excellent. I’ve suggested Weebly to all my artist members as it is so easy for them to use and manage. It’s very empowering. Some other of the website builder platforms (I won’t name names here) don’t even allow you to integrate all types of your embed codes. Instead, they force you to buy an “app” which doesn’t even work as well as what Weebly offers standardly. They are consistently improving their platform, adding features which stay on top of the current website building market. Have no worries only kudos to the Weebly team. Oh yeah, their technical and customer service support is boss. Weebly rocks!! I will remain a happy customer for at least another 10 years!

Weebly is very easy to use and you can get a website made very quickly if you already have your materials ready. It’s not perfect – there are not enough different kinds of templates and sometimes if your internet connection is slow weebly may end up moving things around that you don’t want so you have to go in and fix it later BUT it is so simple and easy to update, change and work with that you can really focus on other aspects of your business without worrying about the website. I got a good deal at the start so the pricing is good for me – but I don’t know about newer customers. I don’t currently have time to learn about coding or more complicated website builders like wordpress and I find weebly looks more professional than wix or other free or cheaper websites.

Overall I love Weebly because it is by far the easiest to build and manage a website out of all of the website builder tools out there. One thing that could be beneficial is to add more templates that are slicker and edgier to match today’s look. (Many of Weebly’s templates look like 2010 style websites). If you could get the templates “Up to date” a little more, it would make Weebly a no-brainer for everyone, especially at the price point you offer. Another area for improvement is going from desktop to mobile when building, many times there is a disconnect and you lose the formatting on the mobile version. That is often frustrating because you have to redesign everything on the desktop version (knowing what it is going to do to change it on the mobile version when you hit publish). Lastly, if you could make it easier to customize within a template, that would also be very nice. Often times I have to google search how to make the adjustments that I want to and then go in and re-write the code myself (and I am by no means a coder)

I am extremely happy with Weebly. As a novice web guy, I can build my own site without much effort. When I do get into trouble, I have been able to reach support and have my problems solved without much effort. They are extremely easy to work with. I’m very happy with my web site.

I have 2 websites on weekly. The other one, http://www.adelantegallery.com i set up on weebly about the same time weebly came on the scene. The twmplates keep improving thru the years and are extremely easy to navigate. I love the contemporary designs weebly offers now. Customer service is great because you can talk to a real and very knowledgeable person. Thanks for answering all of my questions over the years!

I love Weebly for most of my needs as a very small, part time business. I am having some difficulties with some of my iPhone users being able to “check out” and I am sure that I have lost business as a result. I also with there were a few more tiers of subscription. I am not ready to spend big on a website, but I certainly would spend monthly if I could see if it was going to work. I am very interested in how coupon codes could grow my business, but I don’t want to spend big to “test it out”. It would be nice if the packages were more “a la carte”.

I got sidetracked with other things and haven’t really been spending time on my website, which I know needs a LOT of work! However, I must say that when I was working on it, I found Weebly easy to use, and it had features that really worked for me. When I had a question it was answered in good time and was happy about that. I shall be back to complete the website, but just now I have to focus on other things – however, I am looking forward to working on it, and I have recommended Weebly to other people.

I started with weebly years ago for two reasons. 1- They were a small start up and I like working with motivated companies that are passionate about what they do. 2- I was also starting up and the ease of building my own platform was just what I needed.I have been consistently happy with the ease of use and the flexibility of the platform. The templates and themes are continuing to improve but have a bit to go. Word press and some other platforms have a few more options that are cleaner and more uptodate/ modernized. Some of the themes still look a tad outdated. I recently switched my template and theme to give my site a new look and overall it is working well. The only real complaint I have is that I used to be able to crop and adjust my photos with in weebly. That funtionality no longer seems to work and I cannot find a back end area to find the exact sizing for the photos in standard areas on the template to I have a lot of hit and miss with uploading photos. I use a great deal of photos in my work so it is a bit of a challange. A better siszing program with in the weebly platform would be great or to have a clickable area that would give you the specs for each optimal photo area so that I could resize myt photos prior to upload would be incredibly useful.Thank you to your team for alaways being supportive, client care goes a long way in an age where dollars seem to come before people. This company has been a pleasure to works with.

I love it. I wish it were a little more customizable but I realize that may not be possible. I just have something in my mind that I want to do and can’t figure it out sometimes. But for most websites, it works great.

I own a business called OrangeWave Creative Media, and we have been using Weebly to create websites for clients for around 6 years now. We used to code all of our websites from scratch, then we’d have to make all of the changes for our clients since none of them know any web languages like HTML, CSS or Javascript. We looked at Weebly early on, but they didn’t have very many customizable features so every website looked more or less the same.Over the past few years Weebly has greatly improved their website making tools and now you can not only easily build websites in just a few minutes, but you can dig into some of the design code to really make websites stand out from each other. They’ve also added the ability to import third party “apps” into your sites to further customize the look and functionality. While many of these “apps” cost additional money, either one time or per month, many of them are also free or have free basic versions that can do what you need. The editor is also very intuitive. I’ve converted quite a few WordPress sites over to Weebly for clients simply because WordPress isn’t very user friendly. Most people want to just be able to click somewhere to type and not have to go through hoops like you do with WordPress and some other design platforms. As for a drag-and-drop, What-you-see-is-what-you-get editor, Weebly is so simple that many people who know nothing about website design or coding are able to fairly quickly and easily create or edit a page.We also utilize Weebly’s Designer Platform which I highly recommend for anyone who is trying to make websites for a living. Not only can you create as many sites as you need under one account, but you end up getting some price breaks with different features and you can turn and bill the clients however you need. Also, it gives you a white label website editor you can pass off to your clients which you can customize so they aren’t confused with the different Weebly branding on the site. There are some shortfalls to Weebly as well. It isn’t the most powerful e-commerce platform out there, it works well for basic online stores, but when you start getting into more complex customization needs for e-commerce, it’s probably time to look for another platform. Also, while the smartphone app is usable, it isn’t the best phone editor I’ve ever seen either. It can be quite cumbersome to edit on the go if you need to. I usually just tether my phone to my chromebook and edit a site with a ‘desktop’ view instead of trying to go through the app.All-in-all Weebly is a great website tool if you’re just starting out in the design business, if you need to make quick, good looking websites for clients, or if your clients (like mine) want to control the content themselves and they don’t know (or want to know) very much about coding. And if you’re experienced in some web programming languages, you’ll have some control over different features and design elements to your site, which is an added bonus. As with anything, personal preference and depending on what features you value most, Weebly could be the best solution for you or the worst. But you are able to it out for free to see if it’s a platform you’d like to use.

I enjoy using Weebly as it is easy to build pages and upload new content – great for pictures, videos and audio, all of which I use. It meets our needs – simple and effective – and I now have three live sites with a further site in the pipeline. The customer support is always excellent and I like the fact that you can speak person to person if needs be.

I’ve been using Weebly for a long time…over 10 years. I’m a graphic designer and my focus has always been working with small business owners who want a website. I firmly believe that most small businesses need to have the ability to maintain their own websites. Weebly makes this process incredibly simple. I can set up a site (even with eCommerce) in a few days and train the business owner to maintain the site with a few 1-hour sessions. The support team is fantastic and based in the US. This is a big deal to me. Nothing is more frustrating than encountering a problem and then trying to get support from a non-native English speaker. Support is available via email, chat, forums, and MY FAVORITE, an actual phone call answered in a reasonable amount of time.If I could improve anything about Weebly, it would be an improvement to the Theme selection. Honestly, when I’m in the backend and looking at the theme selection, they all look nearly the same. However, each theme comes with its’ own options, so I encourage you to preview themes BEFORE you create a lot of content. However, one of the huge plusses for Weebly is if you decide a year from now that you want to change your theme, you can do that without losing any of your content (you might have to tweak things a bit). As of this writing, Wix doesn’t allow you to change themes without losing content.I’m not sure what the definition here to rate “Templating” encompasses, so I’ll try to be as descriptive as possible. Overall, the page builder elements in Weebly are fabulous. I would like to see more customization options that don’t require the use of a paid app. For example, it would be nice to put a custom border or frame around images. It’s possible, but I had to pay for an app to do that, and it only allows you to work with one image at a time. It would be a great help to have access to more theme options in the theme section…rather than having to mess with the html/css. Traditionally, the only easy theme changes are fonts and light/dark options. It seems like we should be able to change button styles, footer background colors, etc.eCommerce is a snap to set up. Pricing as of April 2018 for eCommerce sites are $8, $12, $25, and $38 per month/billed annually. You can see a list of included features at https://www.weebly.com/pricing. I think this is really reasonable to start a small online business! These plans include a range of features: SSL, Advanced Site Stats, Site Search, Members and Registration, Tax Calculators, Real-Time Shipping, eMail Marketing (like MailChimp), Abandonned Cart eMails, Coupons, Gift Cards, and more!If you want to try Weebly for free, you can do that too. Your website will have a Weebly banner and is limited to http://www.yourdomain.weebly.com. You can keep that free site forever (or until Weebly changes their policies, but that seems unlikely).Overall, I am extremely happy with the Weebly platform. Like my Mac, it just works. And if by some chance things don’t perform as expected, it’s easy to connect with customer support.

What can I say other than I LOVE IT…..Initially I had another website and it was so difficult and time consuming to do anything with. Weebly is quick and easy to navigate and dose not cost an arm and leg to operate. When you are in small business, money and time are key factors to anything you do. If its not cost and time effective then it just dose not work.I LOVE IT ….

Weebly website builder is easy to use and the resulting website can be quite attractive. I especially like the statistics that come with the site as I can see how the website is performing from day to day.
