August 2021 was the tenth month since PS5 was released, and it sold 12.35 million units during that period, while PS4 sold 10.45 million units in the same time frame.
Overall, it had sold over 800,000 units more than PS4 did during the same time frame.
In comparison, Xbox Series X has sold 12 million units.

In fact, Xbox’s earnings increased by over 17% in 2021, to $16 billion. Plus, it earned additional money from content and services from the Microsoft gaming division, reaching $12.6 billion.
